ESG 2023
ESG Committee Report
Restore has made a commitment to accelerate its journey to Net Zero carbon emissions, in-line with the objectives set out in the 2015 Paris Accord and the Group has stated its goal to become a Net Zero organisation by 2050.
Planet Mark
Restore has engaged the Planet Mark organisation to provide support in the development of ESG plans including the identification of key actions, target setting and measurement & reporting of progress. This structured approach provides quality assurance to stakeholders. The high quality of this is structure is recognised in the award of the Planet Mark accreditation to all the Group’s businesses.
Restore is reviewing its consumption of resources including land, electricity, fossil fuels, water, plastics, and cardboard. The Group aims to reduce, reuse or recycle where possible and move its consumption to sustainable resources where possible.
Sustainable resource consumption
Restore has already taken significant steps toward converting operation towards sustainable resource consumption. This includes sourcing most of its electricity from renewable power providers through the REGO backed energy scheme and through participation in EV100 (Climate Group’s initiative to accelerate the transition to electric fleets).
Restore has a substantial property portfolio which primarily occupies ‘brown field’ sites. The Group recognises these sites impact biodiversity and the natural world. Restore’s biodiversity plan seeks to reduce this impact through working closely with landlords to encourage sustainable development and by improving the quality of the natural environment at Restore locations.
