Technology FAQs
Our FAQs have handy guides to the main questions investors and analysts ask us about our five businesses.
A significant proportion of our revenues are attributable to secure decommissioning services at the end of an IT/Network assets life but with the provision of early and mid-life services, we support direct and sales channel partners with physical support for the whole asset lifecycle.
Our products include software imaging, physical installation and asset tagging at early-stage initiation, through the mid-life provision of relocation services, hardware, and software upgrades and at end of life, fully secure and certificated decommissioning solutions through repurposing, recycling or destruction. This includes very complex projects within clients’ Data Centres to relocate or decommission server and networking equipment.
Duncan Gooding
Managing Director, Restore Technology
The IT asset management and disposal market is growing, but not yet mature, and we have the potential to become the key reference point in the sector.
With an existing network of seven processing sites across the UK, and the capability to operate onsite or remotely, our technical expertise and scale have substantial backing to invest and grow its product breadth and uniquely operate effectively with large channel partners and direct customers.
Operating in a fragmented and largely unregulated market, we provide customers with a trusted supply chain. The accredited processes provide high levels of customer assurance over the significant and under-estimated data risk on asset decommissioning. Additionally, with high levels of asset repurposing and zero landfill, the business provides a strong environmental case for organisations seeking to develop their ESG policies.
The market for assurance backed IT lifecycle and decommissioning services is increasingly visible and growing. With Restore’s recent investment in its class leading site at Bedford and successful integration of three new ITAD businesses into our portfolio during the past 18 months, the business is very well placed to continue to expand significantly both organically and through further acquisition.
“The process is simple and well managed by our account manager Lois, who we have a great relationship with. We have never had any problems with any of the team, the drivers, they are easy to deal with and you can trust them to do a good job”.

IT Storeman, Ernst & young
Ernst & Young have been a customer of Restore Technology for eight years and in that time carried out 800 collections. Typically, we collect up to 60 or 70 items a week, mainly laptops and miscellaneous items like keyboards and mice.
We have a great working relationship with Ernst & Young and have developed an IT asset disposal approach tailored to their ITAM system, which ensures they have full visibility of all assets being disposed of prior to equipment leaving any EY building.
Our partners Restore Harrow Green delivered the business move for our client, while we carried out their IT move. We provided pre-move planning and advice, and attended all site meetings with our client’s project management company.
We decommissioned all their IT equipment, including 256 desktop PCs and their server at their old site and recommissioned the equipment at the new site. This involved a server cabling prepatch and UPS move. We worked alongside the IT infrastructure contractor to carry out patching works at desk positions and frame. Our expert team used specialist server cases and IT crates to ensure all the equipment was fully protected during transit. We then provided post-move support. We also supplied the cables needed for desk patching (floor port to phones and phones to IT).
For redundant equipment, we provided IT recycling and disposal services. Dilapidation was carried out by our engineers with all waste products disposed of at Restore Technology’s licensed recycling centre.
